How we verify

Every value on this site has a source, a verbatim quote, and a verification date. Here is how we maintain that.

Four steps

1. We use only primary sources from an approved list of official websites.
2. We copy a verbatim quote and the figures.
3. Code re-opens the source page and compares the quote and every figure.
4. Changes in wording are confirmed by a person.

What code, a person, and the model do

• Code re-opens the source page every week, looks for the quote word by word, and checks every number, date, and percentage against the value. If something is not in the quote, the value is not published.
• A person confirms the first publication, wording changes, new source domains, and the “Who may buy” and “Mortgage” questions.
• The language model only proposes draft values from the source text. It never publishes anything: without verification by code and, where required, a person, the draft does not reach the site.
• If the source website does not respond, that is not treated as a change: we show the last verified value with a note.

What the badges mean

Every value has a badge next to it. The badge always carries text and an icon, not just a colour.

• Verified {date}We checked this against the source on the date shown.
• Verification overdueScheduled verification is overdue: the value may be outdated. Check the source.
• OutdatedWe have not verified this value recently, so we are not showing it. See the source for the current value.
• Source temporarily unavailableShowing the last verified value. This does not mean the value has changed.
• Pending reviewThere is a change that has not yet been confirmed by a person. Showing the previous value.

The “Outdated” badge hides the value but keeps the source link. Province order (BC, ON, AB) is fixed, not ranked.

Limitations

This is information, not advice: the site does not provide investment, mortgage, tax, or legal advice, does not appraise any property, and does not endorse provinces, properties, or professionals. “Verified” means only that the quote and figures were checked against the source on the date shown; it does not mean the value is right for your situation.
